I was born and raised Indiana, and grew up on the south side of Indianapolis. I began my affiliation with the world of aviation when my grandfather took me for a plane ride at the age of two years old. I was hooked for a lifetime!
Growing up I attended the Center Grove School system where I played soccer and baseball. In High School, I was in the marching band, on the swim team, ran track, and was a cheerleader, among other activities. I graduate in 1995 when I packed up and left for Terre Haute, Indiana to attend Indiana State University.
I chose to attend Indiana State for several reasons, but the two main ones were the fact that they offered an aviation and flight program, and both of my parents had gone to school there. During my time in college I was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and participated on the Indiana State Flight Team as both a coach and a competitor. Additionally, while in school, I earned my private pilot’s certificate. Today I hold a commercial pilot’s certificate for both single and multi-engine aircraft, as well as an instrument rating.
After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Administration, I decided to leave Indiana and took a position with a manufacturing company in Las Vegas, Nevada. After three years and traveling to the Caribbean, Japan, China, and Hong Kong , I picked up once again and moved to Denver, Colorado to take a position with a commercial aviation training company. With this company I had the opportunity to fly simulators for several larger aircraft and also travel to the Netherlands. With the downturn in the aviation industry the decision was made to close my office in Denver, so I started looking for a new position. One thing lead to another, and I was hired as the Airport Manager at the airport here.
I’ve been in town now for just shy of a month, and I feel like I still don’t really know too many people. I am very single and have no kids, only a cat named Jack that has been my constant companion since I adopted him from the Humane Society in Indiana. In my spare time I enjoy flying, riding motorcycles, golfing, skiing, traveling, cooking, and a good book. I love my entire family, though I don’t get to see them nearly as often as I’d like since we are all scattered around the country.
