Carl Schaefer

As Commissioners for Lake County, Colorado, we support the public use of this website and hope that it will provide our constituents and visitors a friendly tool for understanding our government. As this is our first Lake County Government Website, we are hopeful that the public will provide suggestions and recommendations about its improvement. Thank you

Commissioner Schaefer is serving in his second term as County Commissioner. He oversees various county entities including: Building and Land Use, Communications and Telephones, Health and Human Services, and the County Public Library. Carl is a Leadville native. He is married to Donna Schaefer and they have one daughter, Clair who attends College at Mesa State in Grand Junction.
