Lake County's Landfill Winter Hours are 8:00 to 4:00, Friday - Tuesday


Closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

NOTE: By State Law the Landfill Must Close Due to High Winds


The Landfill operations include recycling, Non-Hazardous waste disposal and Slash (yard waste). Recyclables that are accepted are Scrap Metal, Oil recycling, tires, batteries, glass, plastic, and paper. We encourage all in our community to make an effort to recycle and continue keeping Leadville a beautiful place to reside in and visit.

The Lake County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing during a Special Commissioner meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. or as soon as possible thereafter, in the Commissioner's meeting room of the Lake County Courthouse.

          The purpose of this Public Hearing is to consider the applicant’s proposal of the solid waste disposal site and facility and receive comments regarding the vertical and lateral expansion of the Lake County solid waste disposal site.
