Enjoy spending time with your family and friends at one of the many special events hosted by the Lake County Recreation Department during the year. Each event offers an opportunity to be active in a fun environment. We can't wait to see you there!

The Lake County Recreation Department believes that everyone should learn to safe in and around the water. This spring we are once again offering a free water safety week! This great program will use Red Cross material and help community members of all ages to become aware of the importance of water safety training. Under age 8? Please being a parent. Attend all 3 days and earn a free 5 visit punch pass to the Aquatic Center.

Dates: May 9-11
Time: 6-7:00pm, Tuesday-Thursday
Location: Lake County Aquatic Center

This course will give you all the certifications necessary to become a professional lifeguard: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid. Certifications are good for two years.

The following skills must be performed BEFORE participants are allowed in the Lifeguard training class:
  • Swim 300 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs.
  • Retrieve a 10 pound brick in 12-foot deep water without assistance and without goggles.
