Enjoy spending time with your family and friends at one of the many special events hosted by the Lake County Recreation Department during the year. Each event offers an opportunity to be active in a fun environment. We can't wait to see you there!
Nuggets Basketball Skills ChallengeIMG_0866.JPG

Join us for this free challenge sponsored by the Denver Nuggets and CPRA. Youth ages 7-14 are invited to compete in dribbling, shooting and passing to see who's got what it takes! First place boys and girls from each age group and division will win the chance to advance to the sectional and state finals. For questions or more details please contact the Recreation Department.

Join us for the second year of our Full Moon Skate. The lights at the rink will be turned off (if weather permits) and participants of all ages will skate under the full moon. This year we will also have games and prizes, so bring the whole family for a night of fun! Glow necklaces will be available for $2 each.

Lifeguard Training ClassIMG_0792.JPG
This course will give you all the certifications necessary to become a professional lifeguard: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid. Certifications are good for two years.

The following skills must be performed BEFORE participants are allowed in the Lifeguard training class:
  • Swim 300 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs.
  • Retrieve a 10 pound brick in 12-foot deep water without assistance and without goggles.
