The Lake County Recreation Department offers year-round sports, activities, and events for children and teens. These programs are designed to expose youth to a variety of recreational activities in a supervised and safe environment. Our focus is on teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, self-esteem and most of all, having fun! Swim Lessons & Swim Club
Session 2: April 1 - May 6, Registration Closed
Time: TBD - Wednesdays 4:15 - 5:15pm OR Saturdays 9-11:00am (time/day will depend on your child's level)

Cost: $35/pass holder and $45/non pass holder

All classes will include an age appropriate introduction to ballet technique and dance terminology. Classes are structured for learning and fun with a focus on appreciating the performing arts. Students should wear comfortable clothing and while tights, leotards and ballet shoes are recommended they are not required!

Join us in this great program to learn the fundamentals of volleyball. Participants will be divided by grade level to work on passing, serving, setting, hitting and court positions through a variety of drills and games. Participants who are ready, will also work on base/free ball and rotations. Players will have the opportunity for game play by attending a CARA tournament.

New for youth in Lake County is Climbing Club! Under the instruction of experienced climbers, participants will expand upon their basic rock climbing knowledge. Participants at this level must have taken one session of On Belay.

We have lost our space in the Pitts Elementary School Gym, and have had to cancel classes for this coming spring! If you know of somewhere that youth archery could be held (and has a place for equipment storage) please contact Karen at 719-486-7494! Look for outdoor classes coming in the summer and fall of 2017.

Join us as we continue to bring Lake County youth spring soccer. Participants is this league will practice 1-2 times a week depending on their age and play games on Saturdays against Buena Vista, Salida, and Fairplay. This coed league provides the opportunity to learn and develop fundamental skills in a safe, fun environment. Participants will receive instruction on basic skills and rules of the game during practice sessions and be offered game time to utilize these techniques.
