Lake County Aquatic Center


Starting September, 5, 2020 the Aquatic Center will be oen Saturdays until 3:00pm. As of Monday, July 20th the Aquatic Center entered Phase 3 of our reopening plan which includes use of the hot tub, diving baoard and family recreational swim. Per Phase 3 the Aquatic Center hours will extend to be open on Saturdays from 7am-1pm. In addition, we continue to offer lap swimming and water running. The sauna and climbing wall are currently closed. 

The facility capacity is 20, and all users must remain in their assigned area for the duration of their visit. Admission will be on first-come, first-served basis, and we will limit swimmers to 60-minute routines.  At this time, we will not be taking reservations. 

Our hours will be abbreviated, as follows: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM (lap swimming and water walking only) and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (lap and family swim); Saturday 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM (lap swimming and water walking only) and 10:00am - 3:00 pm (lap and family swim). We remain closed Saturday evenings and all-day Sunday.

Located within the Middle School building at 1000 West Sixth Street, the Lake County Swimming Pool is one of Leadville's premier recreation facilities. With 25-yard lap lanes, a dry sauna, hot tub, diving board, Aqua Climb, and large shallow play area, the pool has something for everyone. The water temperature is kept at a warm 85 degrees to encourage long and happy visits. Swim lessons, water aerobics, and many other special programs are held on a regular basis. See our online pool calendar, or contact the pool front desk (719-486-6986) for current information. Click HERE for a current facility calendar. Admission Fees
Due to the uncertainties related to COVID-19, the Lake County Aquatic Center is no currently selling 6-month or annual passes ... BUT we've got some awesome deals on 15, 30 and 45 visit punch passes.

Parents with children under 4, please note: your child must wear a swim diaper even if they have been potty trained. 
Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are now available for both youth and adults. Whether you're learning to swim or want to improve your stroke, our instructor will tailor each and every lesson to meet your needs. Lessons can be purchased in packages of 1, 5 or 10 hours and used in hour or half hour increments. Private lessons are $20/half hour and $40/full hour.

Lifeguard Training ClassIMG_0792.JPG
This course will give you all the certifications necessary to become a professional lifeguard: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid. Certifications are good for two years.
The following skills must be performed BEFORE participants are allowed in the Lifeguard training class
  • Swim 300 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs.
  • Retrieve a 10-pound brick in 12-foot deep water without assistance and without goggles
