Lace up your sneakers, strap on your headband, and get in the game! The Recreation Department organizes year-round adult leagues and programs for a wide variety of sports. While the competition can be intense, our focus is on sportsmanship and providing a safe and enjoyable playing experience for everyone. League rules, fees and schedules vary by sport. Individual players without a team can contact the Recreation Department and we will try to place you with a team of other free agents. All leagues are co-ed, unless otherwise noted. Players must sign a waiver and be 18 or older to participate.
Adult Open Gym & Racquetball
The Middle School Gym is the place to be on Monday and Wednesday nights all winter! From 6-9pm, the facility is open for all sorts of recreational fun, including basketball, volleyball, pickle ball, badminton, aerobics, and the jogging track. In addition, the racquetball court is available for rental. This is an adults-only program, with no admittance for anyone under age 18. Please bring proper ID to enter the gym.
Times: 6-9pm, Monday and Wednesday evenings, except on school holidays
Cost: $2 per person (racquetball court extra)
Racquetball: $3 per hour (reservations accepted; call 719-486-7486)
Texas Hold’Em

You’ve seen it on TV—now experience the fun yourself! It’s the return of the Leadville Texas Hold’Em League, and this event promises to be even bigger and better than last year! Players compete over the winter to earn a place at the championship table. Some of Leadville’s greatest establishments take turns hosting the weekly play. Co-ed Volleyball League
Bump, set and spike! The 2009 Season ended with Team RQX as the undefeated Leadville champions. We may launch a second season in March or April of 2010, so stay tuned.

Women’s Basketball League
UPDATE: Due to a lack of interest, women's drop-in basketball has been cancelled. Please contact us if you have ideas for how to improve this activity.

Adult Ice Hockey League
Congratulations to Cutting Edges, our 2010 champion! We'll look forward to starting a new season in December 2010.

Adult Dodgeball League
If you liked it as a kid, you’ll love it as an adult! Season 3 of the dodgeball league begins March 30, with plenty of Monday night “thrilling and drilling.” As with all leagues, the number of teams is limited, so get your team together soon! Team registration forms and individual player waivers are available at the Recreation Office, the pool, or download here.

Ballroom Dance
Join in one of the most fun social events of the winter calendar! You’ll learn a variety of ballroom dances--including waltz, foxtrot, country swing, and polka. It’s a great workout…and a great time! Registration form here.

Parents’ Night Out
Imagine a peaceful Friday evening for just Mom and Dad—while the kids get their energy out at the Sixth Street Gym! It’s the return of the extremely popular Parents Night Out! New this year? Dinner coupons from some of Leadville’s finest dining establishments! Enjoy a lovely meal while you know your kids are enjoying hours of supervised fun.

Ever seen a Frisbee fly at 10,200 feet? The points pile up quickly when local Ultimate players gather at the new synthetic turf field.

Drop-In Soccer see you next Summer!
Leadville is quickly becoming a soccer hotbed in Central Colorado. There are some exceptional players in the community—including many former college stars. With the new synthetic turf field, the sky is the limit for this sport in Leadville. For a less competitive experience, come out for the special Thursday co-ed night.
