*Welcome to the “Lap-The-Lake-50” Road Bike Race. At 10,200 -11,500 feet, this race is one the highest road bike races in Colorado if not the United States. This challenging race consists of 1 lap (17 miles) or 3 laps (50 Miles) around the scenic TurquoiseLake paved road. Prepare yourself for demanding ascents, challenging descents and non-stop turns while biking around exhilarating views of beautiful Turquoise Lake and experience a breathtaking course lined with blue spruce, aspen, lodge pole pine, and various species of wildlife.*

The Course: This challenging race consists of 1 lap (17 miles) or 3 laps (50 Miles) around the scenic Turquoise Lake paved road. The course is non-stop demanding ascents, challenging descents and non-stop turns. Along the entire course you will experience exhilarating views of beautiful Turquoise Lake and a breathtaking course surrounded with blue spruce, aspen, and lodge pole pine. The course will be well supervised with race personal; however will be open to automobile traffic.
Goodies: You can expect close parking, great race music, plenty to eat and drink, race goody bag, awesome handcrafted awards unique to Leadville, "Lap-The-Lake 50" Special Addition Shirt, and use of the Lake County pool.
Divisions & Awards: “Lap-The-Lake 50” Awards will be presented to the top-3 overall male and female finishers as well as the top finisher age 19 & under and in each 10-year age group beginning with age 20-29 up to age 60 and above for the 50 mile Division. The overall male and female finisher for the 17 mile division will recieve an award as well as the top finisher in each 10 year age group. Each participant’s age for awards will be determined by their age on December 31, 2010. (“All Lap-The-Lake 50”) participants will be eligible for an awesome drawing after the race.)
Times & Directions: Race begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at the Lake County Aquatic Center. Registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:00am. From I-70, take the Copper Mountain exit. Drive south on Hwy 91 to Leadville (28 Miles). Hwy 91 becomes Harrison Ave. in Leadville. Turn right on 6th St. and drive to 1000 W. 6th St.. The Aquatic Center and middle school will be on your right.
