Recreation Department Staff




Amber Magee, Recreation Director
Amber holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Exercise Science with an emphasis in K-12 Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She has worked in recreation and teaching since 2002 and is passionate about youth sport and education. Aside from working with the Recreation Department Amber enjoys coaching volleyball at LCHS and spending time with her two dogs. Amber currently holds certificates for CPR & First Aid, Lifeguarding and CPO, and is a recent NRPA Directors School Graduate. 
Felicia Federico, Adult Program Coordinator
Felicia Federico is a life-long resident of Leadville. She has always been active with youth programs in the community, first working at The Center for 18 years, as well as coaching the LCHS Cheerleaders. Felicia currently holds both her Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor certifications from the Red Cross, a CPO certification, and is trained as a Tai Chi for Better Balance instructor.  Felicia has two children, Nick, who works for GH Phipps, and Maggie, who attends LCIS. 

Karen Lewis, Youth Program Coordinator
Karen is a Leadville Native!  She holds an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked with children for the past eight years. Karen is excited to be coordinating youth programs for the Recreation Department and getting the kids of Lake County active. She currently holds both a Red Cross Lifeguard and CPO certification. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Aaron, and their three dogs!  
Judy Green, Aquatics Coordinator
Judy Green is a self-proclaimed "water baby", and has been a lap swimmer for over 30 years. She has experience lifeguarding and SCUBA diving. Judy earned a degree in Advertising/Marketing/PR from Michigan State University. She currently holds both Red Cross Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor certifications as well as a CPO certification.

Jake Harrison, Head Lifeguard
Jake grew up in upstate NY, where swimming was just one of many sports at which he excelled. A well-rounded athlete, Jake played sports year ‘round (baseball, basketball, football) and received a scholarship for baseball at Monroe Community College, Rochester, NY, in 1992. He skied professionally for 7 years in Summit County, sponsored by many big-name sponsors. He spent two years with the Big Brother program, and served 5 years with Search and Rescue in Summit County. Jake holds both Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR certifications.
